CEO

Dr. Theron R. Stinar, D.O. FAAFP

    • CEO of Fredericksburg Christian Health Center

    • Board Certified in Family Medicine

    • Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians

Dr. Theron Stinar is a Family Physician who grew up in Michigan and committed to living for Jesus in the 8th grade. During his junior year at Albion College in Michigan, where he studied psychology and neuroscience, he felt a calling from God to pursue a career in medicine. While at Albion, he met his wife Katie through Intervarsity Christian Fellowship, and the two married his senior year. Dr. Stinar then attended the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine on an Army scholarship and served in the Army Reserves while in medical school.

After completing medical school in 2006, he transitioned to active duty in the Army and completed his residency in family medicine at Fort Benning, Georgia. Initially, Dr. Stinar and his wife Katie felt that God was calling them to a career in the Army so that they could retire in their mid-40s and pursue full-time overseas medical missions work. However, in 2013, after serving tours in Germany and Afghanistan, God showed the Stinars that He had different plans for their family, calling them out of the military.

Dr. Stinar began working part-time at FCHC in 2013 so he could spend time caring for their children while Katie started a ministry in financial counseling. In 2016 the needs at FCHC required Dr. Stinar to transition to seeing patients full time. The following year Dr. Powell felt called to leave the practice and so Dr. Stinar took over as Medical Director. In 2019, Dr. Stinar's oldest son passed away at the age of 17 from suicide. Dr. Stinar often encourages us: “Although the grief of this tragedy can be overwhelming, God has continued to bless and strengthen me so I can comfort others with the comfort He has given me.”

Dr. Stinar gracefully leads our practice, our staff, and the direction of our ministry. We are grateful to him and his leadership at Fredericksburg Christian Health Center!
