Whole-Person Healing. Faith-Driven Mission. Compassion That Listens.

At Fredericksburg Christian Health Center we treat every person as a whole person. That means we care for the body, the mind, and the spirit—because we know that true healing rarely happens in just one area of life.

This isn’t just medicine. It’s ministry. And it’s not about the number of patients we can get through the door. It’s about how deeply we care for the one who just walked in, regardless of how they look, how much money they make or what they believe.

What Whole-Person Care Looks Like

Medical care that’s evidence-based and personalized

Mental health care that helps you feel safe, supported, and seen

Spiritual support if and when you want it, including prayer and pastoral connection

Nutrition services to help you eat well, feel better, and manage chronic conditions

Outreach and mobile clinics that bring care into neighborhoods where access is limited

Time with your provider that’s never rushed—because you’re not just a chart or a case

Why We Do It This Way

In a healthcare system increasingly driven by speed, we choose to slow down. At FCHC, appointments often last more than 15 minutes—because healing takes time. We pray with patients who want prayer. We listen to their stories. We consider not only symptoms, but stress, support, nutrition, and spiritual well-being.

For us, this is not a business model. It’s a calling.

Healing was a major part of the ministry of Jesus. He showed compassion to all people, emphasizing those who were poor, overlooked, and mistreated by those with privilege. The staff of FCHC follow the Spirit of Jesus in loving and caring for all people.

Our executive director often says, “I may be a poorly paid doctor, but I’m a very well-paid missionary.” That mindset shapes everything we do. Whether we’re treating diabetes or depression, giving a ride to a patient who can’t make it in, or helping someone finally feel heard after years of being dismissed, it all counts as sacred work.

How We Do It This Way

FCHC relies on grants and donations not only for charity services but also to provide high quality holistic care for all of our patients. The US healthcare system pays doctors for the number of patients seen and procedures performed. Surgeries and other procedures are reimbursed exponentially higher than office visits. (Numerous studies have shown that most tests and procedures done in the US only profit the system without improving the patient’s health). The high overhead costs to run a medical practice doesn’t afford primary care doctors much time with their patients. The reimbursement FCHC receives even from our insured patients does not cover the extra time and resources spent caring for them. We truly rely on the generosity of others to care for our patients.

FCHC operates as a nonprofit because we believe quality care should never be limited to those who can afford it. When insurance systems fall short, we step in—with charity care, Medicaid support, and partnerships that allow us to serve everyone who walks through our doors, no matter their background.

We don’t just want to treat sickness—we want to restore dignity, rebuild trust, and walk alongside our neighbors toward healing and wholeness.
