Food Can Be Medicine

Access to nutritious food is essential for your overall health. What we eat plays a massive part in our lives, being a source of joy for some and anxiety for others. Whether you're managing a chronic condition like diabetes, seeking to improve your well-being, or simply in need of food assistance, we’re here to help.

Through our Nutritional Services, we provide fresh food, pantry staples, and nutritional counseling to support you and your family.

Food & Nutritional Resources

Virginia Community Food Connection

Seasonal Fresh Produce: From spring to fall, VCFC’s program connects FCHC with local farmers, allowing us to distribute fresh fruits and vegetables to those in need.

Nutritional Counseling

Expert Guidance for a Healthier You: We partner with Nutrition for You to offer virtual and in-person nutritional counseling. These sessions help patients develop healthy eating habits and manage conditions like diabetes, high blood pressure, and weight concerns. FCHC also partners with Revelation Nutritional to offer Christ-centered intuitive eating counseling to help you have a healthier relationship with food.

Order Ahead Program

Easy, Convenient Food Assistance: In partnership with the Fredericksburg Regional Food Bank, FCHC’s Heatherstone office serves as a pickup site for pre-ordered food pantry staples, making healthy food more accessible to you.

Clinic Food Pantry

Emergency Food Support: Both our Heatherstone and Spotswood clinics have food pantry shelves stocked with non-perishable food items donated by the Food Bank and local churches. If you’re in need, please take a bag—no questions asked.

"As she's gotten older, my mother's had a harder time accessing fresh, healthy food that's soft enough for her to eat. Thanks to FCHC's Nutritional Program, I know I can provide the food she needs to stay healthy without worrying about the cost."
